Three Nights. One Encounter. A Lifetime Changed.
Rwanda rewards the slow traveler: terraced hills that fold into mist, volcanoes veiled in cloud, and some of the warmest hospitality on the continent.
This four-day escape pairs Kigali’s calm sophistication with intimate cottage stays in gorilla country.
Day by day
Your itinerary
Arrival in Kigali
Stay: Volcanoes foothill cottage
Touch down in one of Africa's cleanest, calmest capitals. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial at your own pace, then continue into the hills as the road winds toward the Volcanoes National Park.
Gorilla Trekking
Stay: Volcanoes foothill cottage
An early start, a briefing in the mist, and then the forest itself — bamboo creaking, trackers ahead — until the moment a silverback looks back at you. The hour with the family passes like a held breath.
Golden Monkeys & Lakeside Slow Morning
Stay: Lake Burera cottage
Choose a gentler morning tracking golden monkeys through bamboo, or simply linger over coffee as farmers pass with their harvest. Afternoon drive north to the twin lakes for sunset.
Return to Kigali
A final hillside breakfast, then the easy drive back to Kigali for your onward flight — or an extension to Nyungwe's canopy walkway.
